In 2022, a significant milestone was achieved in the Island Lake
community of St. Theresa Point First Nation with the successful
implementation of a 385kW solar power system to their 2
schools.
This renewable energy project marked a groundbreaking
initiative, aiming to reduce the community's reliance on nonrenewable
energy sources and promote environmental
sustainability. The solar system, with a capacity of 385kW-DC
was installed by Powertec Solar Inc.
