Pay: CA$44.61 per hour
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyperson Electrician to join our solar installation team as a lead installer. In this role, you will be responsible for leading solar PV installation crews and overseeing the electrical execution of residential, commercial, and/or industrial solar projects. You will work closely with apprentices and project management to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality installations from start to finish.
Responsibilities
- Act as the lead electrician on solar installation crews, overseeing daily site activities and workflow.
- Perform and supervise electrical installation of solar PV systems, including inverters, panels, wiring, and balance-of-system components.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, and installation plans to guide project execution.
- Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Train, mentor, and direct apprentices and installation team members on-site.
- Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of solar PV systems.
- Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient job site at all times.
- Participate in inspections and ensure all required documentation is completed accurately.
Qualifications
- Valid Journeyperson Electrician certification and Provincial license.
- Experience in electrical construction; solar PV installation experience is an asset.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documents.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide apprentices and crew members.
- Comfortable working at height, outdoors, and in construction site environments.
- Valid driver's license required; additional safety certifications are an asset (e.g., First Aid, WHMIS, Fall Protection).
